đż Adam and Eve: The First People
Share
In the very beginning, before anything else existed, God created the heavens and the earth.
He filled the world with light, land, oceans, plants, and animals of every kind.
But something was still missing...
The First Human
So God formed a man out of the dust of the ground, and He breathed life into him.
The manâs name was Adam.
God placed Adam in a beautiful garden called Edenâa paradise filled with fruit trees, rivers, and animals of every kind.
God told Adam,
âYou can eat from any tree in the garden⌠except the one called the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. If you eat from it, you will surely die.â
Then God said,
âItâs not good for man to be alone.â
So He made Adam fall into a deep sleep⌠and from one of his ribs, God created the first womanâEve.
Adam saw her and said,
âThis is bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh!â
They were the first coupleâliving together with God in perfect peace.
The Lie
One day, Eve was walking near the forbidden tree.
A serpentâwho was actually Satan in disguiseâspoke to her.
âDid God really say you canât eat from this tree?â
âYou wonât die! If you eat it, youâll become like God, knowing good and evil.â
Eve looked at the fruit. It looked delicious⌠and she was curious.
So she took a biteâand then gave some to Adam, and he ate it too.
The Fall
The moment they ate the fruit, their eyes were opened.
They realized they were naked and felt shame for the first time. They sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves and hid from God.
God came walking in the garden and asked,
âAdam, where are you?â
They admitted what they had done, but the consequences were serious.
God said that pain, struggle, and death would now be part of life.
He sent Adam and Eve out of the garden, and placed angels with flaming swords to guard the entrance.
But God Still Loved Them
Even though they disobeyed, God didnât abandon them.
He clothed them with animal skins. He promised that one day, someone would come from Eveâs family line who would defeat the serpent forever.
Moral of the story:
Choices have consequences.
But even when we mess up, God still loves us and has a plan to bring us back to Him.
