đ Joseph: From the Pit to the Palace
Share
A long time ago, there was a young man named Joseph. He was the favorite son of his father Jacob, and his dad gave him a beautiful giftâa colorful robe made of many colors.
Joseph had big dreams. Literally.
One night he said, âI had a dream where all of your bundles of grain bowed down to mine!â
Another time he said, âI saw the sun, moon, and stars bowing to me!â
His brothers? Yeah... they werenât feelinâ it. They were jealous, angry, and tired of hearing about his dreams.
Betrayed by His Own Brothers
One day, when Joseph came to check on his brothers in the fields, they hatched a plan.
âLetâs get rid of him!â
They threw him into a pit, then sold him to passing traders as a slave.
Then they dipped his colorful robe in goatâs blood and told their father Joseph was dead.
Meanwhile, Joseph was taken to Egypt, far from home, far from family.
From Slave to Prisoner
In Egypt, Joseph became a servant in the house of a powerful man named Potiphar.
God was with Joseph, and everything he did prospered.
But trouble showed up again. Potipharâs wife lied about Joseph, and he was thrown into prisonâeven though he did nothing wrong.
Still, Joseph didnât give up. Even in jail, he helped others and stayed faithful.
Dreams Come True
While in prison, Joseph interpreted dreams for two of Pharaohâs officials. One dream came true exactly as he said.
Two years later, Pharaoh had strange dreams that no one could explain.
Joseph was brought out of prison, and he said:
âI canât interpret dreams on my ownâbut God can.â
Joseph explained Pharaohâs dream:
âSeven good years of food are coming, followed by seven years of famine. Prepare now!â
Pharaoh was amazed. He made Joseph second in command over all of Egypt!
The Full Circle
During the famine, Josephâs brothers came to Egypt looking for food. They didnât recognize himâbut Joseph knew exactly who they were.
Instead of getting revenge, Joseph tested their heartsâand when he saw they had changed, he revealed the truth.
The brothers were afraid, but Joseph said:
âDonât be afraid. What you meant for evil, God meant for goodâto save many lives.â
He forgave them, hugged them, and brought his whole family to live in Egypt.
Moral of the story:
Life might not go the way you planned...
But God has a purpose in every pit, prison, and pain.
Stay faithful, and watch Him bring it full circle.
